Clermont, Fla. – Summer is just around the corner and the National Training Center, part of South Lake Hospital, will be holding several youth camps.

Keep your kids active this summer at the NTC Summer Kids Sports and Activities Camp for children ages 6 through 13. Each camp features a week of games, sports and active play including swimming, soccer and track and field. Participants will be exposed to a variety of activities, learn new skills and create healthy fitness habits. All sessions run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be six sessions with the first session starting June 11. Each camp session is $125 for non members and $95 for members. Save $25 for a second child and save $10 if registering for two or more sessions at time of enrollment. For more information and to sign up, please visit the NTC Front Desk or contact Carol Kneller at ext. 4202, carol.kneller@orlandohealth.com.

A Softball Day Camp will also be held, coached by Stephenie Hash, Sports Specialist. This camp is an excellent way to introduce the sport of softball to young athletes and a great way to refine the skills they may already be familiar with. This camp for ages five through 12 will be held on weekdays June 7 – 15, at The National Training Center. Campers will take part in instruction of softball fundamentals and will enjoy activities like “slip n’ slide into home” and “water balloon toss” to teach important techniques of the game like sliding and soft hands while having fun.

Meals can either be packed and brought to camp or can be provided by the South Lake Hospital Cafeteria. Campers will also get to cool off in the NTC pool before going home for the day. To register your child for an active start for summer, pick up a form at the NTC Front Desk www.ntcsoftball.com under the Camps/Clinics tab. For more details, contact Stephenie Hash at 352.241.4585 or Stephenie.Hash@orlandohealth.com.
