South Lake Hospital welcomes first baby of 2015

CLERMONT, Fla. — South Lake Hospital’s Centre for Women’s Health welcomed its first baby of the new year on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at 3:39 a.m.

Proud parents Damu Cherry-Mitchell and Dennis Mitchell gave birth to a baby girl named Aaleyah Mitchell, who weighed eight pounds, two ounces and is 19 ½ inches long. The family is doing well and enjoying their new addition to the family.

The baby was delivered by Matthew Casavant, DO and Joesph Kerpsack, MD The Mitchell family received a welcome basket filled with newborn necessities and gifts from South Lake Hospital.

The Centre for Women’s Health offers labor and delivery services, childbirth and breastfeeding education classes as well as diagnostic imaging services for women including digital mammography, 4-D ultrasound, bone densitometry and stereotactic breast biopsies.
