Local women share their success stories during 10-year celebration

Six local women are sharing their stories of successfully battle through breast cancer.

CLERMONT, Fla. — South Lake Hospital’s Centre for Women’s Health is celebrating 10 years of serving the needs of women in South Lake County with an open house at the imaging center on Thursday, Sept. 4, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The hospital is focusing on celebrating the patients served throughout the past 10 years. Six local women are sharing their stories of successfully battle through breast cancer and their experiences at South Lake Hospital. Photographs of the women celebrating life will be on display along with a write up on each woman’s story.

“Every day our team members assist women in our community through difficult journeys,” commented Victoria Walter, director of imaging at South Lake Hospital. “Our patients are our family, friends and neighbors and we become connected to them. Our highly trained team members and physicians not only provide top quality healthcare services but treat the patient as a whole to support them throughout diagnosis and treatment.” 

The open house will feature remarks from local physicians Jason Boardman, MD, a board certified surgeon, and Holly Saunders, MD, the board-certified radiologist at the Centre for Women’s Health Imaging Center. Attendees can tour the imaging center, ask questions, read the stories and see photos of the six local women. Refreshments will be served and attendees will receive a commemorative gift.
