Paul Johns joins South Lake Hospital as Chief Operating Officer

The Lake County resident has been with the Orlando Health system for 10 years and most recently was the administrator of Ancillary and Support Services at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital.

CLERMONT, Fla. — South Lake Hospital, in partnership with Orlando Health, recently welcomed Paul Johns as the new Chief Operating Officer.

Johns has been with the Orlando Health system for 10 years and most recently was the administrator of Ancillary and Support Services at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, in Orlando, Fla. Johns will work closely with South Lake Hospital President John Moore and assist with operational strategies and oversee all ancillary services.

“We are fortunate to have Paul as an addition to our administrative team,” commented Moore. “Paul has extensive experience in operations and leadership in the healthcare industry and will be instrumental in helping to lead South Lake Hospital as we continue to meet the needs of our community.”

Johns’ initial focus with the Orlando Health system in 2003 was as director of Rehabilitation at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital (formerly Sand Lake Hospital) Brain Injury Recovery Center. His expertise in planning, leading and evaluating service lines led him to several other administrative positions within in the Orlando Health organization before joining South Lake Hospital as the COO.

Prior to his work with Orlando Health, Johns spent eight years with Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Fla., and held several positions including vice president.

The Lake County resident received his Masters in Business Administration from Webster University, Orlando, Fla., and his Bachelor of Professional Studies from SUNY College at Brockport, Brockport, N.Y.

South Lake Hospital, in partnership with Orlando Health, is part of a 180-acre health, wellness and education campus that employs approximately 1,100 team members and includes the 122-bed hospital, the Centre for Women’s Health, the National Training Center, an outpatient surgery center and an endoscopy center.
