Cardiologists may use one of several tests to screen your heart for a number of conditions, including irregular or abnormal heartbeats, coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure. Our goal is to develop the best treatment plan for your condition.
Our cardiologists may use a traditional stress test to measure your heart function while you are on a treadmill or stationary bike. In some cases, we may order a myocardial perfusion scan, in which we inject safe amounts of radioactive dye into your hand or arm vein to get a better picture of your heart. We may simultaneously add exercise or medication that will increase your heartbeat and widen your arteries.
