If you have had a heart attack, or have an irregular heartbeat, chest pain or unexplained fainting, our doctors may have you wear a Holter Monitor for 24 to 48 hours to get information that will enable us to develop the best treatment plan for your condition.
A small, portable device, the Holter Monitor measures the electrical activity of your heart as you go about your daily routine. The test results will tell your cardiologists if certain activities trigger your irregular heart rhythms or if your abnormal heart rates are the result of medications or other circumstances. The results can be used to determine your next diagnostic test or best course of treatment.
