Changes in the appearance of your breast may be a sign of this rare, advanced-stage, fast-growing cancer that sometimes is confused with an infection.
Our breast cancer team will diagnose your condition by examining a breast tissue sample and may use MRI to determine the spread and stage of the cancer. The affected breast may need to be removed, and we may recommend chemotherapy and radiation to kill residual cancer cells or hormone therapy to stop them from multiplying. Our plastic surgeons can sculpt a new, natural breast using advanced DEIP flap surgery.
