Lipomas are slow-growing fatty lumps or tumors under the skin that feel tough, rubbery and movable when touched. They are fairly common and usually small and painless, but can grow larger or occur in multiple places.
Your general surgery team will diagnose you and may use steroids to shrink your lipoma. They also could use a small incision or liposuction to remove the lump. They may examine a tissue sample or perform an MRI or other scans before treatment to rule out a type of cancer called liposarcoma. We will support you throughout every part of your treatment and give you quality care.
