Cardiologists may recommend magnetic resonance angiography to look at the flow of blood through your blood vessels. They will then assess if you are risk for more serious heart problems.
Magnetic resonance angiography is a painless procedure that produces detailed pictures of your blood vessels using a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer. You’ll lie on a narrow table that slides into a large tunnel-shaped scanner, and we may inject a contrast material or dye to help us see your blood vessels better. You can wear your own clothing or a hospital gown during the scan.
