Vascular specialists may use noninvasive tests to diagnose blood flow issues in your arms and legs that could put you at risk for a heart attack, stroke or other heart problems.
To determine if you have blood flow problems, our cardiologists may recommend a Venous Doppler test of your veins or an Ankle Brachial Index to test your arteries. During a Venous Doppler ultrasound test, a sonographer, or technician, passes a small device called a transducer over your arms and legs to record sound waves. An Ankle Brachial Index measures the blood pressure in your arm and at your ankle.
