Transitional cell carcinoma occurs in the urinary system and is the most common type of bladder cancer. Treatment will depend on the location and stage of the cancer and whether it has spread.
Our surgical oncologists may suggest transurethral bladder tumor resection, in which we insert a cystoscope through your urethra into your bladder to remove the tumor. We also may recommend chemotherapy or immunotherapy to limit the chance of a recurrence. In certain circumstances, we may use radiation therapy or we may combine treatments. Our goal throughout treatment is to give you the best possible care.
