Central Florida Myositus Association to offer new Myositus Support Group in South Lake County
People with myositis face the difficulty dealing with a chronic illness, plus the extra challenge of having a rare disease most people have never heard of.
Clermont, Fla. – The Central Florida Myositus Association will offer a new myositis support group in South Lake County beginning in April at South Lake Hospital.
People with myositis face the difficulty dealing with a chronic illness, plus the extra challenge of having a rare disease most people have never heard of. Because the disease is so rare, it's hard to find others who understand what you are going through and the challenges posed by myositis. The Myositus Association (TMA) helps resolve this problem through its Keep In Touch (KIT) member support network. KIT groups offer members the chance to join with others in their area and share mutual support, friendship and ideas.
There will be three sessions offered for people and their caregivers with all forms of myositus. The first support group will be Saturday, April 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. followed by two additional sessions in July and October.
There is no charge to attend and it is open to the public. All sessions will be held at The National Training Center on the South Lake Hospital Campus, 1935 Don Wickham Drive, Clermont. To register, please call 352.394.4071, ext. 4412.
