David Bello, MD, FACC, is a member of Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute, an affiliate of Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute and member of Orlando Health Physician Group. Dr. Bello is currently the Department chief of cardiology and the medical director for the UF Cardiology Fellowship program. He is board certified in internal medicine, with subspecialties in cardiovascular disease and electrophysiology, and nuclear medicine.

Dr. Bello earned his medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela and completed his residency at The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. Dr. Bello also completed an additional year of fellowship training in electrophysiology at Northwestern, where he received the Merck Fellow “Young Investigator Award�? of the American College of Cardiology through his MRI Research fellowship in heart failure and electrophysiology. In addition, Dr. Bello completed a fellowship in congestive heart failure at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco.

Prior to joining the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Bello was an assistant professor of medicine at the University of California. He also served as the director of cardiac CT and MRI at the same institution. His clinical interests include cardiac CT, MRI and MRA applied to heart failure and electrophysiology; the implantation and management of internal cardiac defibrillators and permanent pacemakers; and electrophysiology studies and ablations.

Dr. Bello has participated in several research trials and has had his work in the areas of cardiac CT, MRI, MRA, heart failure and electrophysiology published, including novel imaging and catheter technique for atrial fibrillation. He has presented his MRI, heart failure and electrophysiology research at multiple national and international meetings, and has received multiple awards for his research and investigation trials.
