Bio
Dr. Vijaykumar Kasi is an interventional cardiologist and president of the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular sciences, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology and endovascular intervention. His specialties include:
- General cardiology
- Coronary artery disease
- Cardiometabolic disease
- Interventional cardiology
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- Patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect closure
- Transcatheter, aortic mitral and tricuspid repair

Dr. Kasi previously served as medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and cardiovascular research at Orlando Health, and he was the founding program director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program.
Dr. Kasi’s Training
Dr. Kasi received his medical training at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India. He also studied genetic engineering at the Institute of Science in Bangalore. Dr. Kasi earned his doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree in molecular and cellular biology and pathology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed fellowships in cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta and in interventional cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
About Dr. Kasi
Dr. Kasi is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and American Board of Vascular Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Vascular Medicine. His professional memberships include the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention and Society for Vascular Medicine.
He has a passion for research and specializes in obesity and cardiometabolic conditions. His past research focused on stem cells and robotics. Dr. Kasi has published in peer-reviewed journals and has received numerous national and international awards.
