The Safe Sitter course is a highly structured babysitting preparation course designed for youth ages 11 through 13. The two-day course is held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and covers babysitting basics, child care essentials, and safety for the sitter, injury management, preventing problem behaviors, care of a choking infant and child and the basics of infant and child CPR.
The course includes hands on practice with CPR manikins, small group interactive learning, roleplaying and a toddler or preschool guest. Program participants emerge as more confident, responsible and compassionate teens.
