Breast Milk Donation
The Orlando Health South Lake Hospital Center for Women and Babies serves as a drop-off location where women can donate their extra breast milk.
Breast Milk Donation Through the Milk Depot
Women with extra breast milk can donate milk to help nourish premature and at-risk babies. Orlando Health South Lake Hospital Center for Women and Babies is one of three locations within the Orlando Health Women’s Institute to serve as drop-off sites for Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) milk banks.
A HMBANA milk bank screens and tests potential donors, pasteurizes and cultures donated milk, then bottles the milk for shipment. This process is incredibly important as only milk from a HMBANA milk bank can safely be given to premature and sick infants receiving hospital care.
We’re proud of our community’s generosity and the many women who have donated to the Milk Depot. These donations literally save lives.

- You’re in generally good health

- You’re not taking medications on a regular basis
- Your milk has been frozen no longer than eight months and stored in a freezer that is cold enough to keep ice cream frozen.
