Rehabilitation Services
The Occupational Therapists (OT) at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation offer evaluation and treatment services for adolescents and adults that help regain, modify or learn skills needed to perform meaningful daily living activities- whether self-care, leisure or work- to maximize independence. OTs enhance daily living skills by helping to gain strength, coordination, motor control and cognitive skills.
Orthopedic Rehabilitation
- Post operative surgeries and fractures
- Hand, Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder pain or injury
- Improving strength and range of motion
Neurological Rehabilitation
- Return to Independent Activities of Daily Living including household and hygiene tasks
- Neuro-motor re-education and coordination
- Energy conservation
Splinting and Restorative Hand Therapy
- Fine and gross motor skills coordination and dexterity training
- Management of spasticity and/or low tone
- Scar Tissue management
- Customized splints for stabilization following injury or surgery
Outpatient Driving Program
- Medically at-risk drivers
- Safe to Drive In Clinic Assessment
- Determines readiness for “behind the wheel” evaluation
- Must have driven prior to disability
- Valid Drivers License
